The Don Jose de Ortega Chapter of the National Society was organized eighty years later on October 9, 1970, at the Andres Pico Adobe in Mission Hills. There were twenty-four charter members who elected Muriel Drew Fisher as the organizing regent. The chapter was named for Don Jose de Ortega (1734-1798), who was the ancestor and fifth generation grandfather of member, Marcia Havens Stowers.

Your interest in our chapter is greatly appreciated.  We invite you to wander through these pages describing our activities and special interests.  If you would like to receive an invitation to attend a chapter meeting, please take a moment to click on the "Contact Us" link in the blue box on the left.

Be sure to send us a message before signing off!  We love to hear from our visitors and hope you would like to know more about membership in this wonderful society, especially as a member of the award winning Don Jose de Ortega Chapter.
